What kind of emails can I send from Keela?
Using our email features, you can send 2 types of emails from within Keela:
- Contact Emails - Personal, direct emails sent to a one contact at a time
- E-blasts - Mass emails sent to multiple contacts at the same time

When someone replies to an email sent from Keela, where does the reply appear?
When the recipient replies to an email sent from Keela, the reply will appear in 2 places:
Your Keela Inbox
The message that you sent, and any subsequent replies, will appear in your Keela Inbox. You can access your Inbox using the envelope icon on the upper right hand corner of Keela.
The Contact Email tab
The message that you sent, and any subsequent replies, will also appear on that person's Contact record, in the Email tab:
Will I be notified when I have a new email in Keela?
Yes! The envelope icon for your Keela Inbox will turn orange when you have new messages, so you won't miss a thing.
Keela will also send an email notification to your personal email to let you know that you have a message waiting.
Once you open the email, you can either respond to the message directly using the "Reply" button in your email program, or click on the links in the bottom of the email to log in to Keela and reply to the message from there.

Email Addresses in Keela
What email address will my emails come from when I send them from Keela?
When you first create an account with Keela you will be given your very own "keela.co" email addresses. One email address will be created for your organization, and one for each Keela user - for example:
- Your Organization's Keela Email: Organization Name (email@example.com)
- Your Personal Keela Email: Your Name (firstname.lastname@example.org)
When sending E-blasts, you will have the option to send them from either your Organization's Keela Email or your Personal Keela Email.
Contact Emails will always be sent from your Personal Keela Email.
Why does Keela provide me with a keela.co email address?
This process was introduced on June 26, 2018, in response to changing email authentication and spam filtering standards on the internet.
When Keela was first built, Contact Emails were sent from a user's personal email address, while E-blasts could either be sent from the user's address, or a a keela.co address.
As technology has evolved, email providers have progressively changed the way that they identify and treat email in order to prevent spam. As a result, users with certain types of personal email addresses began to experience difficulties with email deliverability when sending through Keela or other mass-email systems.
To help improve deliverability, we changed our system so that messages would only be sent from keela.co email address. At the same time, we also developed a solution for our clients to be able to send emails from their own domain addresses. Read the next section to learn more about this solution!
What if I want to send emails from my own email address?
To enable you to send Keela emails from your own email address, we've created an integration with SendGrid, an email system provider. This integration allows you to connect your domain (i.e. yourorganization.org) with Keela and send emails from your own domain email addresses from within Keela, such as:
- Your Organization's Domain Email: Organization Name (email@example.com)
- Your Personal Domain Email: Your Name (firstname.lastname@example.org)

What if I want to change my keela.co email address?
Your keela.co email addresses are automatically generated when your Keela account and user accounts are created. Sometimes this process creates an email address that is not very appealing (i.e. it's too long or detailed).
