In order to either backup, or more importantly in this situation, export your Bloomerang data, head to the Organization Settings page.
Here, you’ll want to:
- Select ‘Settings’, and then choose ‘View All Settings’
- On the Organization tile, select ‘Edit’
- In the Database Export pane that appears, select ‘Create New Export’
This process can take up to a few minutes, and you are not required to stay on the screen while the export is being generated. Once the export is complete, you’ll see a ‘Download’ button will appear. If it’s been several minutes and nothing has appeared, simply refresh the web page.
What data is exported in this process?
Note: The items we’ve deemed to be most important for your import into Keela have been written in bold. You can still seamlessly import as many data fields as you wish, however, using the Custom Fields tool. Check out Step 3 under Preparing your Data for Import.
- Custom Fields
- Email Interests
- Phone Numbers (written as Phones)
- Pledge Payments
- Processing Info
- Recurring Donation Payments
- Recurring Donations
- Relationship Roles
- Soft Credits
- Transaction Processor Accounts
Majority of your data is exported, but a few things will be left out. Unfortunately, email templates, letter templates, and engagement scores will not be exported.
Your data will be exported as a ZIP file. Unzip the file to access each individual CSV file.
To unzip on Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/14200/windows-compress-uncompress-zip-files
To unzip on Mac: Double-click on the ZIP file, and the file/folder will decompress into the same folder the compressed file is in.
By now, you will have the necessary data files for you to successfully import your data into Keela.
